We’re here for Alberta’s Educators

If you’re an Alberta educator affected by the ongoing strike, you don’t have to navigate this time alone.

We’ve set aside short-term individual therapy spaces to provide meaningful, affordable support for teachers, substitutes, and school staff across the province. Sessions are available virtually or in person (Spruce Grove & West Edmonton), depending on provider availability.

Complete the short form below to help us confirm eligibility and match you with a provider. We do our best to offer same-day responses to inquiries received Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. & 7:00 p.m. (MT).

If you have an urgent inquiry, please send us a text!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much does therapy cost through this program?

Depending on your provider, sessions are offered at a substantially reduced rate ($120/session) or pro bono. Those with insurance coverage (e.g. AESBP) are encouraged to use it so pro bono spaces remain available for those without benefits.

  • Can I choose my therapist?

You’re welcome to share a preference if you have one! Our intake team will do their best to match you with a provider who has space and aligns with your needs. Because this is a short-term initiative with limited capacity, matches are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Why is proof of employment needed?

This program was created for Alberta educators and school staff directly impacted by the current strike. To keep it sustainable and meaningful for both those offering support and those receiving it, we ask for a simple proof of employment. This small step helps ensure these spaces go to the people who need them most.

  • How many sessions can I book?

Up to five (5) sessions are available through this program, booked weekly. These are designed to offer short-term, focused support.

  • Do the sessions expire?

Yes. The sessions in this program are meant to offer short-term, focused support during the strike period. All sessions must be booked within this timeframe and attended weekly to maintain continuity of care. Any unused sessions expire at the end of the strike or on December 31, 2025, whichever comes first.

  • What happens if I miss a session?

Life happens, and we understand things come up. We just ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.

If a session is missed without notice (a no-show), the regular session rate for your provider ($220 for Psychologists, $150 for Certified Counsellors) applies and any remaining sessions in the program will be forfeited. This helps us respect provider time and keep the program sustainable for everyone involved.

  • Can I continue after the program ends (or if the strike ends)?

Absolutely. If you’d like to continue care beyond the program, or if the strike ends before your sessions do, your provider can discuss next steps and rates with you directly. After the program concludes, sessions return to each provider’s regular rate, and many clients choose to continue using their insurance coverage.
