Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I know if therapy is right for my child?

If your child is experiencing persistent difficulties with focus, emotions, friendships, school, or behaviour, therapy can help them develop coping strategies and build confidence.

  • Do I need a formal dignosis?

Nope! We provide support for all children ages 7+ with attention or behavioural concerns. If your child struggles with focus, emotions, or behaviour, therapy can provide tools and support.

  • Is a doctor's note or referral required?

Only if your specific insurance company or benefits provider requires one; otherwise, we accept self-referrals!

  • What happens in a therapy session for kids?

Therapy sessions for kids are designed to be engaging and age-appropriate. Depending on the child’s needs, sessions may include talk therapy, art therapy, or creative activities to help them express their thoughts and emotions in a safe space.

  • Can ADHD be treated without medication?

In some cases. While medication can be helpful for some kids, behavioural therapy, executive function coaching, and parent strategies can also be highly effective in managing ADHD symptoms.

It’s important to note that we do not handle medication management or recommendations. If you are seeking medication support, we recommend speaking to your family doctor or obtaining a referral to a psychiatrist, who has medical training and is equipped to provide guidance on medication options.

  • How long does therapy take?

Every child is different! Some kids benefit from short-term therapy (6-12 sessions), while others may need extended support. We personalize the approach based on each child’s needs.
