As a compassionate and down-to-earth therapist, I offer an integrative approach designed to meet your unique needs.
I might be a good fit for you if you:
Have difficulty identifying or understanding your feelings
Feel stuck in patterns that affect how you see yourself and your relationships
Struggle to express your needs or feel truly heard
Want practical tools to manage conflict and communicate with confidence
Find yourself having the same exhausting conversations with your partner without resolution
Are seeking relief from anxiety, depression, or stress
Need a safe, welcoming space where your identity is respected and valued
Are facing a recent life transition and want support in finding a way forward
When working with me, you may notice that I try to get to the root of what matters to you, by understanding first, what hurts. In my experience, there is often a lot of meaning behind our pain and when we slow down to look closely, we may often find something of great value there in the depths of the pain. Emotional suffering can alert us that change is vital or that something needed is missing. I am happy to support my clients in coping with difficult and dramatic life changes, to assist them in regaining a sense of agency, hope and willingness to endure, despite the inevitable difficulties of life.
It is perfectly okay to be blunt and honest when working with me, and I welcome your ability to express your authentic whole self (yes, this includes crying and sometimes even a little swearing!). Emotional expression provides an excellent avenue forward into the work as it gives us an avenue to explore our needs and our values.
Clients who work with me will enjoy a witty, inviting, explorative, and accepting environment to explore their feelings, thoughts, and behaviours without judgment. To make sure our space remains a safe place, I check my own assumptions, beliefs, and value judgments at the door and encourage clients to correct me if I get it wrong. I will do my best to check in with you if I sense a disconnect and on my theories, thoughts, or queries as relevant to you and our work together.
If it sounds like I might be a fit for what you are looking for in a therapist, please reach out and let’s get started.
