Support for Alberta Educators

Feeling stretched thin, anxious, unsure or emotionally drained?

You’re not alone, and you don’t have to push through it on your own.

In recognition of the stress and uncertainty Alberta educators and support staff are facing during the ongoing strike, our team is offering short-term therapy spaces designed to provide focused, compassionate support.

Our providers are opening a limited number of short-term therapy spaces for Alberta teachers, substitutes, and school support staff seeking help navigating this season of instability. Sessions are offered virtually or in-person at one of our two locations.

What is included?

The Teacher Support Program includes:

  • Up to five sessions of short-term therapy per participant

  • Weekly scheduling to maintain consistency

  • Reduced-rate or pro-bono options, varying by provider

  • In-person sessions are offered at both of our locations; virtual sessions are open to educators anywhere in Alberta.

Each session is a dedicated space to help you:

  • Process uncertainty and burnout

  • Strengthen emotional regulation and coping strategies

  • Reconnect to purpose and personal wellbeing

Who’s it for?

This program is available to Alberta educators impacted by the current teachers’ strike, including:

  • Certified teachers and substitutes

  • Educational assistants and classroom support staff

  • School-based administrators and counsellors

  • Other employees working directly in impacted school settings.

Because this program is designed to support those directly affected, qualifying documentation will be required before scheduling.

Proof of eligibility will be required prior to scheduling. Accepted documentation may include proof of role, staff ID, ATA membership card or ASEBP coverage details. These details help us prioritize those most directly impacted while keeping the process simple, respectful, and confidential.

Our Approach + Why We’re Doing This

Many of our providers have educators in their own families and understand first-hand the weight you’re carrying — the uncertainty, the exhaustion, and the emotional toll of showing up for others while trying to hold yourself together.

We also know we wouldn’t be where we are today without the educators who supported us through the ups and downs — the excused late homework, the encouragement, the mentorship, and the patience that helped us get here. Sometimes, you just need space to process what’s happening without worrying about how you’ll afford it or where to start.

Our practice is grounded in authenticity, compassion, and connection. We believe therapy should feel human — real people supporting real people through real challenges. Our providers have come together to create this program as a way to offer meaningful support when life feels heavy, while ensuring it remains sustainable for everyone involved.

We’re here to help you steady yourself while the ground keeps shifting.
