Hi, I’m Abhishek

From a young age, I have seen what it costs people to stay quiet about what they’re carrying. Talking about mental health can feel uncomfortable, unfamiliar, and sometimes we don’t even have the words for what’s wrong; we just know we don’t want to feel this way anymore.

It’s especially true for trauma. The thing about unprocessed experiences is that they don’t stay quiet on their own, and sometimes they even show up in ways not even connected to the original source. Trauma can show up as hypervigilance, reactions that feel bigger than the moment and even just the exhaustion of getting through the day.

I also work with people who are experiencing ADHD, depression, anxiety, challenges managing conflict, and relationship issues. Sometimes these things show up on their own, and sometimes they’re tangled up with everything else.

I use EMDR to help clients process trauma and PTSD. I’m also certified to conduct CAPS-5 assessments, which can be an important step for people seeking a formal PTSD diagnosis. I also incorporate interventions such as CBT, psychodynamic, and attachment-based therapy. And, it isn’t one-size-fits-all! We’ll start with some structure so I can really understand your world, and then shape the work around what you actually need. Over time, we’ll check in on what’s working and what isn’t.

My goal is to create a space where you can say the hard things out loud and start to understand where they’re coming from, not just what happened, but the how and the why. We’ll figure out together what you need and work at a pace that feels right for you.

I am currently welcoming new clients. I work with individuals and couples, children and teens age 10 and up, and I offer in-person sessions in West Edmonton and online sessions for anyone in Alberta.

WE MIGHT WORK WELL TOGETHER IF…

  • You want to understand the how and why, and make sense of your experience.

  • You’re ready to embrace the full journey (including the messy parts), and you want someone who won’t rush you through it.

  • You’re not sure where to start and want a guided process, not just someone to talk at.

  • [Abhishek: one specific situation you recognize immediately–the client you know exactly how to help]

A NOTE FOR THE [KEY/TARGET DEMOGRAPHIC] READING THIS

[A note from Abhi specifically speaking to your NICHE / SPECIAL INTEREST DEMOGRAPHIC] (i.e. Men, trauma survivors, etc).

One thing I want you to know coming in: I understand it’s already hard to sit across from someone you just met and dive right into it. Making sure you feel comfortable before we start anything is my first priority. Sometimes that takes a few sessions. That’s completely normal, and it’s completely okay. We’re on your timeline.
